Therapy is ultimately about human connection. When I started my career, I quickly realized my true calling was helping people navigate life's challenges. After earning my Master of Social Work from Grand Canyon University and teaching, I returned to full-time direct care to do what I love most: helping clients build fulfilling, resilient lives.
With over 13 years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, working as a behaviorist, and conducting crisis evaluations, I know how essential it is to have a calm, reliable partner during difficult times.
I employ a strengths-based and relational therapeutic approach, while integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with mindfulness techniques, incorporating behavior-focused strategies to facilitate the reframing of choices. I work with both adults and adolescents aged eight and older, bringing a wealth of experience in supporting individuals with developmental delays and those on the autism spectrum.
I believe that asking for help is not a sign of weakness. Sometimes life becomes overwhelming, circumstances change, or we simply find ourselves struggling to know what comes next. Having someone who will listen without judgment and walk alongside you can make a meaningful difference.
My goal as a therapist is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can be yourself, feel heard, and work toward the changes you want to make in your life. I bring the experiences from every chapter of my career with me, but most importantly, I bring genuine compassion and a desire to help.
Marlene is licensed to practice in Indiana and Kentucky and provides counseling services to Indiana and Kentucky residents both virtually and in person.
